Global Sharing Week has begun, and takes place June 7-13. It sees the world’s best sharing companies collaborating to show how, given a few small lifestyle adjustments, anyone can save a great deal of cash, do their bit to protect the environment or become more social by sharing with other people.
UK Sharing site Liftshare has been around since 1998, so has seen the British sharing economy grow since its inception. To honour Global Sharing Week, the Norwich-based company has put together a new infographic with the input of six other sharing sites to underline the good this booming sector does day in, day out.
Contributors include courier service Nimber, food redistribution charity Fareshare, clothes marketplace Vinted, venue hire site Hire Space, sports platform OpenPlay, and car space rental service JustPark. The UK sharing economy helped 33 million Brits save over £4 billion in 2014. Together, these sites are hoping to smash that total for the benefit of everyday people across the world.
