TrustedHousesitters.com, based in the UK, has members in over 130 countries and helps pet owners find pet lovers to care for their pets and homes while they are away. It offers an altruistic way to find a pet sitter and is a key player within the global sharing economy. The pet loving community, who love to travel, offer their time and care for free in return for a free retreat world-wide. To date they’ve helped facilitate over 700,000 house and pet sitting nights, meaning pets stay happy at home and pet parents enjoying peace of mind.

Dr Scott Miller, TV Veterinarian (GMTV, Paul O’Grady, Bondi Vet) and Daily Telegraph’s Vet columnist, Pete Wedderburn have both partnered with TrustedHousesitters.com to support the concept agreeing that, “Pets are far more happier at home and can adapt much easier to a new carer then a new environment. Pets, especially cats, can be stressed when out of their natural environment and staying at home with a pet lover is much, much better.”

TrustedHousesitters.com enables pet lovers to create profiles which includes information about past experiences, why they want to house sit, photos, references, police checks and video profiles – arming the pet and home owners with lots of information to help them make their ideal match.

To date members have saved in the region of £150million in both pet care costs and hotel/accommodation costs – and has enriched the lives of many beyond the money saved.

TrustedHousesitters.com was set up by Andy Peck and his partner Rachel Martin after they realised first hand that pet care the world over has been a dilemma for many home and pet owners, especially expats living in areas / countries where alternative pet care may not be available or expensive at best. House sitters relish the opportunity to stay rent free in homes around the world – and as a community of pet lovers, see pet care as an added bonus to enhance and enrich their trip, being care orientated rather than pay orientated when it comes to caring for other’s pets.
